nated glove (4H) appears relatively impermeable toMMA,but widespreaduse is limitedby cost anddiminisheddexterity.2,3 Allergic contact dermatitis inducedbyMMAmay result in significant discomfort and is seen frequently after occupational exposure amongdentists, dental technicians, orthopedic surgeons, andotherhealthcareworkers. Second-andthirddigit fingertips are commonly involved.3 Nail dystrophy and fingertip paresthesias have also been reported.4 Severe cases of MMA-induced dermatitis can even necessitate profession changes.3 Purpuric contact dermatitis has been reported in patients sensitized to agents such as textile dyes, formaldehyde, and epoxy resins.5We report herein the secondcase, toour knowledge, of MMA-induced PCD.6 Although patch testing is considered thediagnosticgold standard for suspectedallergic contact dermatitis, this patient’s strong contact history and rapid, sustained resolutionof symptomswith allergen avoidance allowed for clinical diagnosis. Fingertip purpura may appear alarming to unsuspecting clinicians and may prompt an extensive workup. We encourage physicians to consider PCD in patients with potential contact exposures.

Penicillamine induced pseudoxanthoma elasticum with elastosis perforans serpiginosa.
Long term D-penicillamine therapy, especially when used to treat Wilson's disease has been shown to cause elastosis perforans serpiginosa, pseudoxanthoma elasticum perforans and other degenerative dermatoses. We report a 23-year-old male patient who presented with multiple firm papules, nodules over the neck, axillae, front of elbows for five years. He was a known case of Wilson's disease on lo...

Elastosis perforans serpiginosa (EPS) is a rare reactive perforating dermatosis that is characterized by the transepidermal elimination of abnormal elastic fibers. Penicillamine, which is one of the clear triggers for EPS, is a heavy metal chelator that is primarily used for disorders such as cystinuria and Wilson's disease. It may cause alterations in the dermal elastic tissue such as pseudo-p...

To the Editor: Elastosis perforans serpiginosa (EPS) is part of different kinds of perforating diseases that are dependent on factors such as idiopathic, reactive, or drug induced. We report here a case of a patient who presented with multiple reddish‐brown keratinized papules coalescing to form serpiginous plaques in the anterior and posterior of the neck, which was found to be typical D‐penic...

We report a 61-year-old man with multiple colored skin papules with central crusts in an archiform and linear pattern on his forehead as well as verrucus and hyperkeratotic plaques with central perforation on hands.
